Venomous Oddities

Despite being only the size of a golf ball, the blue-ringed octopus carries enough venom to kill 26 adult humans within minutes. When threatened, brilliant blue rings appear across its body as a warning. There is no antidote to its bite.

The slow loris is the world's only venomous primate. This adorable-looking creature produces toxins in glands on its elbows, which it licks and mixes with saliva to create a venomous bite. Despite its cute appearance, it's one of the most dangerous small mammals.
